Start walking from the river and you have a climb along old streets, old buildings and then through the vineyard to the castle gates.

The castle is in great shape and worth a visit. Excellent views of the Mosel valley from the castle. I participated in a guided tour. The tour was in German, but an English handout is provided so you can follow along. I reserved tickets in advance online and I recommend doing this. I opted for the first available tour at 10AM.
