The Drop Ride is an optional ride and if you fancy a reprieve, you can skip the ride! We are a Dungeon, but not actual torturers! Please also note that it is not accessible for guests who are unable to walk unaided or guests who cannot use stairs.

Does Edinburgh Dungeon have a boat ride?
Hi there and thanks for your interest in the Edinburgh Dungeon. During your tour there are 2 rides – the boat ride and Drop Dead. The boat ride is an atmospheric ride rather than a thrill ride so is nothing to be worried about (although watch out for those cannibals)!
Can dogs go in Edinburgh Dungeon?
Assistance dogs are welcome, but for safety reasons they are not permitted on any of the rides. A member of the party must remain with the dog at all times.
Can you go to London dungeons when pregnant?
Pregnant guests are welcome to visit The London Dungeon at any time during their pregnancy and can take part in all 18 shows on our tour.

Why is Edinburgh so dark?

Yes, they do have very authentic actors in every “show” and I think there are around 18 shows altogether. Some of the actors jump out at you, but not so often, however I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone of a weak disposition.
